Associated risks of BV

Bacterial Vaginosis is not a very serious condition. However, there are some cases wherein it causes negative health effects to some women.

Studies have found that BV is strongly linked with pelvic infection. Pelvic infection can lead to infertility. It can also cause ectopic pregnancy. Researchers today are trying to find the connection between BV and pelvic infection.

BV has also been found to negatively affect pregnancy. Women who had BV give birth prematurely. Some give birth to low birth weight babies.
