This 4-star luxury hotel is a 5-star in my book!
This hotel may not be as modern as the other hotels around but it has its own unique charm. The rooms are clean, the lobby is small but grand and the food and drinks are good. What made them exceptional:
- The clean, blue luxurious swimming pool. My son loved it so much that when we were at Disneyland, he wanted to go back to the hotel for a swim.
- The super fast check in and out. I booked through Agoda and they were all expecting us.
- The spectacular view of Victoria Harbour from our room.
- My requests: smoking room, not on very top floors. Like I said, they were expecting us and it was waiting for us, all ready to be our home for 5 days.
- The English speaking, amiable and helpful staff.
- Honest staff: the room has a safe but like typical tourists that we are, we did not bother to put our valuables in them and some will not fit. We just left laptops, LV bags around and other valuable stuff everyday. Not a single item got stolen, the staff tidied the rooms, yes even our expensive luggage and valuable lying around, they arranged them nicely but nothing was stolen.
- They have everything you need, just like a 5-star hotel. First aid kit, sewing kit, iphone sim card eject key. Yes, I know, we were needy bunch, but they have everything we ask.
- Location: just across Quarry Bay MTR station, 7/11 & groceries, market, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Subway and restos around
- Price: I know price is relative and Harbour Plaza North Point may be a bit expensive to some because it is not a new hotel but the hotel is what I can say as value for money.
- Internet: Before I booked the hotel I read the reviews and this is basically the complaint of past guests. I thought it's okay since we will be out most of the time and will have internet on our phones. I was surprised however that they have very fast internet. Yes, fast! My son can play his online games, not ordinary games but MMRPG massively multiplayer role playing game, and you need very fast internet to play that. I did not receive any complaint from my son, thankfully.
- Room: Large by HK standard, everything functions well (dimmed lights, AC/heater, hot & cold shower, blinds, etc.)
- Other things that will take up more than just one blog but you will all enjoy it when you stay in this hotel.
I just love this hotel and will definitely come back next year. See you soon Harbour Plaza North Point! Can't wait!
