Common Signs of BV
Many
women do not suffer from any symptom. This is normal because BV can have no
symptoms. In most cases however, its major symptoms are discharge and odor. In
some cases, these are accompanied by itchiness that can develop into burning
sensation in the vagina.
Since
the condition can have no symptom, one way to tell if one has BV is if one
suffers from excessive vaginal discharge. Thus, when there is no apparent
symptom, it is best to take notice if there is excessive vaginal discharge.
Bacterial
Vaginosis is quite common and many women who are affected by it do not go to
the doctor unless they can no longer tolerate any of its symptoms. Usually they
just use over-the-counter medications or natural remedies for vaginal conditions.
Although
the condition may manifest itself without any symptoms, those who do have
symptoms are affected in the most unpleasant manner. The odor alone can be
quite embarrassing. Many use spray in the hope of dispersing the foul odor.
Many also avoid social gatherings when they have the condition. Those who go to
work are distressed and try to find the fastest remedy.
Those
who suffer from itchiness, pain or burning sensation, stay away from sex.
First, because of the pain, and second, because they are embarrassed to tell
their partner that they have the condition.
The
right cure for BV is very important for people who suffer from the condition.
This is because unlike the other vaginal conditions, BV is very hard to totally
remove from one’s system. It is a recurring condition. Even if one believes
that her condition has been cured, after some days or weeks, her body will
again produce the bacteria excessively and she will again suffer from the
condition.
