Two Types of Vaginosis

There are two types of Vaginosis:


• Bacterial Vaginosis
• Infectious Vaginosis
• Atrophic Vaginosis


Bacterial Vaginosis, which is caused by the overgrowth of the bacteria in the vaginal area.


Infectious Vaginosis is one of the sexually transmitted diseases and more harmful
than the BV.


Atrophic Vaginosis is very rare. It mostly affects women who are in post-menopausal
age and women whose ovaries have been surgically removed.


It is important to get tested in order to know which type of vaginosis you have. The
treatments for the different types are also different so consult your doctor if you
suspect that you have vaginosis.
